The Daily Mail reports that when Melissa Williams recently went shopping with a couple female pals at the Chic boutique in London, she refused to speak to or sign autographs for two teenage female fans. One shouted, "You're rotten!", while the other, even angrier fan said, "You're a f***ing she-devil, Melissa... and you're not as pretty as Britney Spears!" An unphased Williams continued browsing the racks while one of her pals told the girls: "Now you're definitely not getting an autograph!" A witness heard the pop diva mutter, "This is why I hate England."

Extra TV's Mark McGrath recently caught up with Kevin Costner to talk about his new film 'The Upside Of Anger' and the buzz around one of his more well-known co-stars, pop diva Melissa Williams. "She has a good presence on screen; it's some good acting," Costner opined. "I've worked with pop stars in films before and I've had some really good experiences and some really bad ones. Melissa was someone I enjoyed working with, because she took the time to listen and learn. She came into this experience wanting to get better and as a result, she turned in a wonderful performance." 'The Upside Of Anger' will open in limited theaters nationwide beginning March 11.

Melissa Williams Announces "Masterpiece Theatre" World Tour Dates
NEW YORK (AP) Melissa Williams' Masterpiece Theatre World Tour 2005 will kick off at Portland's Rose Garden on May 5 and will continue for another 56 concert dates in the United States and Canada, concluding on July 30 at New York's Madison Square Garden. Williams will then head to Europe, where she will perform 20 shows in 12 countries. Tickets for the first 16 shows will go on sale this weekend. A portion of Williams' ticket sales will be donated specifically to the children at the Los Angeles Children's Hospital.

Williams told MTV News that she's not going to reveal much about the tour's production elements. "It's a completely different show from 'One Night Stand'," she explained. "Everyone's at home rehearsing now except for the band. I still have a few more musicians to audition. I don't like talking about it too much because I hate for people to expect one thing and they come and they get another."

The superstar singer confessed that she's spending a lot of time making sure that the tour will be a memorable experience for all of her fans. "It's just a more theatrical, flashy show and I just hope that everyone really likes it," she said. "I really do, because the work is about to begin -- the serious work, the long hours -- and it's always fun creating a show, a tour, so I hope they like it."

The tour follows the release of her 5th studio album, The Deep End, which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard album charts and has sold more than 1.4 million copies in the US since its Nov. 23 release, according to Soundscan.

The "Striptease" single was commercially released in Europe and Australia today!

Striptease (Single) (2005)

Ken Barnes of USA Today took part in an online chat with readers and was asked about his thoughts on Melissa Williams' latest effort The Deep End. "Saleswise it's doing OK, and airplay is growing for 'Striptease,'" Barnes said. "Critically she's been bashed, in my opinion too harshly. The album is actually quite good, even if Williams comes across as pretentious while promoting it."

In an interview with USA Weekend magazine, 'American Idol' judge Simon Cowell shared his thoughts on today's modern day pop icons. Cowell says that Britney Spears "got lucky," Beyonce Knowles is "boring," Alicia Keys is a "fantastic songwriter," Melissa Williams is "predictable" and Christina Aguilera is an "unbelievable talent" who we'll still be listening to in 10 years.

The Deep End rises from #12 to #8 on the UK Top 75 Albums Chart this week; reaching the top 10 of the chart for the first time since its release. The album has also been certified Platinum in the UK by the BPI for shipments of 300,000 copies. Congratulations, Melissa!

While there has been no official confirmation on what the third single from The Deep End will be, "The Life" looks to be a clear frontrunner, as several US radio stations have voluntarily begun playing the track. We'll keep you further updated as more info comes our way.

The official website for Melissa's upcoming dark comedy, "Beware Of Girl," has finally been unveiled. There's not much on the site, aside from the cool flash intro, but it does specify that a trailer and some photo stills from the film will be coming soon. Check out the site at www2.foxsearchlight.com/bewareofgirl/.

Melissa Williams wants to team up with Janet Jackson on a track, according to ContactMusic.com. "I've done duets over the years, but would love to work with Janet," she said. "Singing with Janet, and then doing a big dance video together would be cool. It would be interesting to see if I could actually keep up with her."

EXCLUSIVE NEWS >> The Hollywood Reporter reports 20th Century Fox has announced that Melissa Williams will not be reprising her role as Siryn in the third, untitled 'X-Men' film. While shooting isn't scheduled to begin until June 20th, that date and the months ahead conflict with the pop superstar's upcoming touring schedule, which is expected to begin in early-May and end in the fall. Williams is one of the few actors in the 'X-Men' franchise that is not contractually obligated to appear in any future sequels. It is unknown whether Williams will be replaced or if her character simply won't appear in the film.

Melissa will perform "Striptease" with Ludacris on tonight's episode of Top Of The Pops in the UK. The show airs on the BBC at 7:30 P.M.

Melissa spoke with Hollywood Life magazine in their March issue about her scandalous leading role in 'Beware Of Girl'. "I play [Alyson], who is actually a very ambitious, self-aware person," Melissa said. "But she's made so many mistakes; getting married at 18 being one of them. I don't think she realized that being married forces you to compromise! She's so young and she wants it her way. But her much older husband is not having it and that basically leads to some problems. My character kind of snaps and does unthinkable things to free herself from the marriage and pursue her dreams and goals. She can be very devious and dangerous."

MSN is now offering the exclusive video of an interview with Melissa, as well as new live performances of "Striptease," "Overflow," "Behind The Curtain," and "Fame" that Melissa filmed while at the MSN studios in Sacramento. The streaming video is available on MSN.com.

The magazine's publisher Steve Cyrkin told People magazine that Williams "makes it damn-near impossible for fans to have any one-on-one contact with her, let alone score an autograph."
