On August 6th Melissa will be shooting her second Red Lobster commercial in Los Angeles. The resteraunt is looking for extras to be in the commercial who are residents in the Los Angeles area. The Austrailian leg of Melissa's "One Night Stand" began last night in Sydney.

Although Melissa's current single, "Do What You Came To Do", has not peaked chart-wise, a few radio stations have begun spinning the next single, "Innatrance", in remix form. According to various reports, "Innatrance" will be sent to radio stations for ads sometime next month.

"Austin Powers: Goldmember" opens nationwide in theaters today. Melissa has a featured cameo role in the film.

On the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart, "Do What You Came To Do", finally jumps into the top 10, zooming to #7 this week. Meanwhile, on the Billboard Top Music Video Chart, "The Ultimate Experience", shows immense staying power, jumping from #5 to #2 after seeing an unexpected 15% sales increase.

It's Melissa-mania on the UK charts this week! Sparked by Melissa's recent London concerts, the Fame album jumps back into the top 10 on the UK Top 75 Album Chart, landing at #8. Melissa Williams and Exposed re-enter the chart at #62 and #66, respectively. Also, according to reports, All I Am, was close to re-entering the chart as well, selling 17 copies less than the #75 entry.

Melissa's August 26th show in Denver, Colorado will be taped for DVD/VHS release later this year.

According to SFX.com, Melissa is planning on extending her world tour, adding dates in South America & Mexico. Dates should be confirmed and released shortly. According to international sales reports, the Fame album has been selling well in Mexican and South American music markets, despite it being a foreign album. Fame is the only foreign album by a female artist to debut in the top 10 of the Mexican Album Chart this year, so far.

The 2002 "MTV Video Music Awards" will take place on August 29th at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City, and broadcast live at 8:00 P.M. EST. & PAC on MTV. It is currently unknown if Melissa will be preforming/attending the show, we'll keep you updated as more news surfaces.

While in Europe on her tour, Melissa stepped into the recording studio to record a brand new song! This song is titled "Be Myself" and is a duet with pop artist and friend of Melissa's, Mandy Moore. It will appear on the soundtrack to Mandy's forthcoming movie, "Try Seventeen". The song is reportedly being produced by Guy Roche.

Melissa has been nominated for an Emmy award in the category of "Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special" for last year's "Melissa: Live From Madison Square Garden" HBO special. The 2002 Prime-Time Emmys will air on September 22nd at 8:00 P.M. EST. on ABC from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

It was recently reported that it was official that "Finally" would be the third US single from Fame, well, there has been a change of plans. "Innatrance" has now been slated to be the third single, worldwide ["Innatrance" was previously scheduled to only be released outside of the US]. A video for "Innatrance" was shot in May and will premiere worldwide in August. The song was remixed by popular UK DJ, Freddy B. James, for the video.

Melissa's "Impossible Fantasy" is featured on the "Austin Powers: Goldmember" soundtrack, in stores now!

As of now, according to Amazon.com, Melissa's poetry book, "Shared Heart", is scheduled to be released in the US on September 24th and the day before, internationally. The book will be comprised of various poems, unreleased lyrics and photos. It will be available on hardcover only.

Melissa is currently in London with her band and dancers, going through the final show rehearsals leading up to the big night on Saturday, July 20th, where the show will kick off at the Wembley Arena in London, UK.

According to MTV.com, Melissa will be releasing a book of poetry titled "Shared Heart" this fall. We'll keep you updated when more information on the book surfaces.

Melissa held yet another press conference in New Orleans today to discuss the progress of her tour rehearsals and to raise awareness for "America's Promise", an organization that she will be donating some of the proceeds to, from the U.S. & Canada leg of her tour. One thing Melissa did not discuss is what the tour will be like. Melissa was quoted saying: "I really don't want to give too much away. I'll guarantee things you've never seen before, though. It's going to be very innovative." You can catch an excerpt from the press conference on the BRAVO channel's "MusicVIEW" show that airs tomorrow, Saturday, July 6th. "Fame" will be featured on the latest "Now That's What I Call Music" compilation series, NOW 10. You can pre-order the album, to be released on July 23rd, here.

In the July/August issue of Movieline, Destiny's Child star Beyonce Knowles is being interviewed, mostly concerning the new Austin Powers movie in which she stars. The topic of conversation moves to Melissa Williams, of which Beyonce had this to say: "It's great that she's in it. She plays herself in a scene with Mike, a dance-off that's supposed to be great. I can only imagine what that is! I really like and respect her. She works very hard. I've met her a couple of times and she's always a really nice, down to earth girl."

"Do What You Came To Do" continues to soar up the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart landing at #21 this week, up from the previous #29 slot last week.

Melissa is featured in the forthcoming August issue of ELLE magazine that is scheduled to hit news stands on July 8th. We have been able to obtain the article early and it has been added to the Articles section.

In less than two weeks, Melissa will be moving rehearsal production for her One Night Stand tour to London. The "One Night Stand World Tour" will kick off in London, UK on July 20th at the 10,000 seated Wembley Arena.
