Launching
Launching is when your car is stationary and u'd like to accelerate quickly. what you do is push in the clutch, move the shift lever to first...and while holding the clutch down, u give it gas...rev to anywhere between 2000 and 7000rpm depending on how much u love ur car and how well u can feather the clutch/throttle after the launch.. after this u can then drop the clutch which will spin ur tires loudly and hurtle your car forward or feather the clutch and gas at the same time to keep the rev's high....this may be more wear and tear on your clutch but has got to be the fastest way from my experience. rather than sitting there burning rubber all day, you are launching the car forwards with minimal wheel spin and putting down as much power to the ground as you can...
Downshift Rev Matching
Ok say that you are in 3rd gear and u'd like to downshift to 2nd gear...obviously if u just put it to 2nd and let out the clutch u'd lock up your wheels and look like an idiot. what you are supposed to do is push in the clutch, move the lever from 3rd to 2nd...stay on the clutch and blip the throttle and THEN let out the clutch...this will make the transition from 3rd gear to 2nd gear smooth and u will not feel any jerk if this is done properly. the reason why u must blip the gas is because of the gear reduction difference between 3rd and 2nd gear...say in 3rd gear...u can be at 4000rpm and be going 70...but in 2nd gear going 70 u are at 6000rpm. u therefore will have to blip the gas that additional 2000rpm to match it up.
Heal and Toe
Heal and Toe incorperates rev matching but also puts in the element of braking at the same time...so say for example that you are entering a corner and you are on your brakes...this is a 3rd gear corner and u are in 4th gear...while pressing on the brakes with your toes, u move ur heal over and blip the gas as you are downshifting thus matching the revs and braking and slowing down at the same time. this enables you to be in the proper gear right after u let off the brakes and let's u give the car gas right away. i'll post up some pics once i find some...but for now use your imagination, i hope u understand what i am describing lol
Trail braking
Trail braking is really really really late braking. like braking during the turn in point of the corner. this lets u FLY into the corner passing everyone who is braking because they are braking in the braking zone and u are a crazy mofo who is aggressive and wants to pass everybody at the enterance of the turn. this makes the car kind of squirly as all the weight is transfered to the front and u get better steering response and better front end traction. so the initial turn in because of trail braking will result in a mild oversteer. i used this a lot at shannonville back when i still only had stock suspension because stock suspension was too understeery...
Taking Proper Lines
This requires illustrations so let me compile some first before i go on to describe how to do them.
