Thomas Locker

Artist (landscape painter and children's book illustrator) and author of children's books

Thomas Locker began illustrating books for children when he discovered that many children's books published today did little to educate children in the appreciation of landscape paintings that one might find in the National Galleries of the world. His own children were exposed to art galleries because he took them with him to various exhibits but there were not so many children present.

Thomas Locker's paintings have been exhibited in major galleries in London and America. His current landscapes remind the viewer of Hudson River School and some earlier paintings could be measured to 18thand 19th Century European landscape painters now in museums. Anyone with children or grandchildren, nieces or nephews will enjoy the books Thomas has illustrated. You can find his own stories and books he has illustrated at your favorite bookstore or library. On the Internet, find his books for sale at http://www.thomaslocker.com or your favorite online bookstore.
