What you can do as a Senior Section member

Look Wider

The Look Wider programme based on principles and methods of guiding can be worked through by members of the Senior Section. It is clearly linked to qualification both inside and outside of Guiding. You don’t have to be a member of a group to complete it either. It is based around 8 areas known as Octants that vary to include the variety of talents within members & to be flexible to suite the individual.

Queen’s Guide Award

Can be started when you are 16yrs old. To register get your leader to download the form from the leaders resources section on this website.

The Promise

I promise that I will do my best
To love my god
To serve the queen and my country,
To help other people and be of service to the community
And to keep the (Ranger) Guide Law

The Guide Laws

A Guide is honest, reliable and can be trusted
A Guide is helpful and uses her time and abilities wisely
A Guide faces challenge and learns from her experiences
A Guide is a good friend and a sister to all Guides
A Guide is polite and considerate
A Guide respects all living things and takes care of the World around her

The Guide motto

Be Prepared

Units

Within North Pembrokeshire there is only one Senior Section unit in Fishguard and Goodwick. However, there are many young leaders who help with many units over the division. They get support from their Guiders. You do not necessarily have to be part of a group to complete Look Wider, Queen’s Guide Award or Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

What next?

Now you can work towards your Warrant and become a Guider. You can choose which section you would like to help with whether Rainbows, Brownies or Guides suits you best. The world is you oyster!
