Are all aged above 18 years. Leaders vary in responsibility from Guiders and Unit Helpers to Parent helpers.
Guiders are in charge of the girls, and organise meetings. All Leaders have a leaders qualification and have a first aid certificate. They are also checked for suitability by the Criminal Records Bureau with two referees. As the girls get older they have more and more input into the activities undertaken at meetings. Many have been through guiding themselves, but even those who haven’t wished they did. They pass on many skills to the girls, but also by undertaking regular training learn new skills. Most Guide leaders have camp qualifications to take the girls camping each summer, while the Brownies go on Pack Holidays.
Many parent helpers can’t help every week but any night you can is greatly appreciated.
Do you have a special talent that you could teach our members? It could range from computer skills to crafts. Whatever it is, your input would be welcomed at any of our meetings.
