Since this site is about our family, we couldn't forget to include our furry friends. Casey is a terrier - cross pup (crossed with what, I'll never know) that we adopted from the Humane Society in 1997. We discovered her when she was just four weeks old, apparently abandoned on a doorstep. Since she was so young (and so small - she fit in my hand) we "fostered" her from the Society first. Of course, we had to adopt her when we could.
Casey
was joined by Sheba, Heather's kitten, in 2002. We gave Heather the six-week
old kitten after she graduated with honors in Grade 5. From
day one, Sheba has let it be known that she is indeed a "Queen", and can
often be seen standing her own against Casey.

Along with three mice and two aquariums of tropical fish, our home is quite a zoo at times!
