The Lowlands represent most of the built up area in North Bay. The actual area is everything below the escarpment. It lies south of the escarpment, and between the two lakes -- Lake Nipissing, and Trout Lake. It rises about 20m in an area of roughly 50 square kilometers.

The Trails Of The Lowlands

Mouth of Duchesney Creek to 10 Mile Beach -- Part of the trail is not in North Bay. The trails is in 2 parts, in the middle is a Monestary. The northern part is mainly flat. The southern parts is somewhat rugged.

Laurier Woods -- These trails are surounded by marsh and swamps. One section of the trail system follows the original colonization route from Montreal.

Booth Rd/Massey Dr -- These trails are in amongst the swamp/marshy mess also known as Ferris.

Laurentien Trails -- These trails are in the middle of the city. There is a wide variety of trail surfaces to enjoy.
