This group's main purpose is the mooring of these yellow colored sediment trap samplers in a vicinity of the Japan sea. The traps as shown in detail below was developed by Honjo-sensei et. al. in 1980 and is often called the Honjo Trap in his honor. These are deployed for a year and the particles falling from the sea surface are trapped in the rotating bottles filled with formaline in saline solution.
Now comes the exciting part of deploying those traps. Look at the pictures on the right for some eye-opening photos of the boys at work.
