This
in-situ sampler was designed by the Challenger Oceanic Systems and services
to filter over one cubic meter of water in a few hours at mid-water depths (up
to 5500m) in the open ocean. The purpose is to get sufficient quantities of
particulate material for the subsequent analysis of radiochemical moieties.
