Magus was born and raised in the colony cluster of La Grange Point 7. His father Justinian owned and headed a mobile suit manufacturing facility on the colony and was commisioned to build Space Leos for the colonial defense force. When a scientist came to his father in AC 194 he was hired to design mobile suits. At this time Magus had recenly finished basic training in the colonial defense force and had graduated first in his class. The scientist, Guru M, noticed Magus' abilities in piloting a mobile suit and showed him the mobile suit he had been building in secret, the XXXG-01FB Gundam Frostblade.
Magus agreed to pilot the suit in the mysterious Operation Meteor if it meant liberating his colonial home from those oppressing it. Unfortunately this plan was found out and the colony was attacked that very night. Magus rushed to the hangar and pilotted the Gundam in the battle but was defeated due to his lack of actual combat experience and the colony was destroyed along with Magus' parents and sister. The Frostblade lost most of its gundanium plating in the battle and need massive repairs, unable to afford them Magus hid the Gundam in the debris of the L7 colony and travelled to the colony cluster at L3. Here he joined the colonial defense force and piloted the new Taurus class mobile suits.
Magus excelled and when the colonies rebelled he joined in the fight. Although not fighting in the Gundam Frostblade, Magus still became an ace pilot in his Taurus. During the conflict known as the "Eve Wars," Magus pilotted his Taurus on the side of the independent colonies. At the end of this conflict he quit the colonial defense force and went to get his Gundam. When he arrived there he found Guru M in his ship, Vengence, waiting for him. Guru M had fully repaired the Gundam and gave it back to Magus. Magus received notice of the formation of the UESA and was asked to head the military branch due to his superb yet unorthodox piloting record. Magus agreed and continues to serve in this postion to this day.
