History

Mark is the son of Falkon Exel, former dean of the Specials Academy at Lake Victoria. Falkon's students include many famous figures, including Treize Kushrenada and Miliardo Peacecraft. Mark was always into stuff with his best freind, Sezura Jin, however he was often kept out of trouble by the Academy's top instructor, Enrique "Kappa" Largo. When Mark was ten, Kappa betrayed the Specials and led an assault force on Lake Victoria. The cadets repelled the attack, however Falkon was mortally wounded, and his Tallgeese 3, Pendragon, stolen by the retreating Kappa. With his dying breath, Falkon entrusted the care of his son and Sezura to a young and promising cadet named Kahna Winner. However, before Kahna could find the two, Mark flew into a rage at his father's death and broke into the high-security bunker, stealing the prototype Heavyarms-type mobile suit. Sezura mysteriously vanished. After getting a hang for the controls and evading mobile patrols, Mark crashed the mobile suit in the Peruvian jungle, where he was found comatose by his older cousin, Eric Law, and the mercenary group he was with. After regaining consiousness, the mercenary leader Wataki refined Mark's natural ability as a mobile suit pilot as they began repairing the damaged prototype. Covering it in a gundanium skin, Mark christened it Knight. Over ten years Mark forgets the events that took place at Lake Victoria. During Operation: Meteor, the mercenairies were arrested and killed, save Mark, Eric, and Wataki. When they parted ways, Mark had his gundam painted a symbolic black and gold and took off for space. Signing on with the newly restructured OZ, he prove so able he was allowed to go directly into service, stationed on the OZ homebase of Fortress Excalibur. Under command of Kahna Winner, Mark begins to have flashbacks of his past, usually at inoppertune times. His years spent with the mercenaries has given him a second sense about mobile suit mechanics and weapon systems. He can often be found on the hangar deck, lecturing to the mechanics on how they should do something or other. He is also the current head of Oz's small Research and Development division. Only recently has he remembered his freindship with fellow OZ pilot Sezura Jin, which is complicated by his distaste of cats.
