She usually finds it difficult to forge in-depth relationships, though, due to her rather brazen attitude and blunt manner of speaking, not to mention the bit of temper inherent in her being from times past. She could get close to someone, if she wanted, and deep-down she can be quite the affectionate person... but nobody has managed to bring that out yet, given all that has happened to her. Nevertheless, she knows where her loyalties lie and will if necessary vigorously defend someone of her acquaitance, whether or not she calls them friend. |
| History: | Little known to many on Jolaan, Xaira's life mainly consisted of defending the Jikuu mages' territory and populace on Thaeren from those of the psionic persuasion. Things have been tense there for as long as she can remember, and she began studying the odd, component-like magic known to her people ever since they would let her do so. She learned quickly, and her skill combined with her relative 'eternal youth' due to her race quickly advanced her rank. It was ironic, then, that an experimental spell meant to bring some of her fellow mages back from the battlefield tore a space-time rift that cast her onto Jolaan. There ever since, she made an unlikely set of friends that led her to reside at the Jade Castle as head Jikuu mage -- mainly because nobody there had heard of her style of magic except a few choice dragon-clan members, including the kingdom's prince, who is currently under her teaching charge. She remains at the castle and has focused her energies both on teaching the select few talented individuals there, as well as a constant study to make her way back home... for nobody on Jolaan or the many worlds accessible from there has ever heard of her little corner of the universe. |
