Anti-malaria campaign from ManipurCultural troupes, privately registered to the Songs & Drama Division of the Ministry of Information Broadcasting Imphal Centre have been performing various cultural programmes on the theme "Prevention and Control of Malaria" in different parts of Mizoram. This programme, which commenced September 8, will conclude on September 28.

Union minister arrives in the cityThe Union Minister of State for Water Resources Ms Bijoya Chakravarty arrived in Aizawl Wednesday where she met Governor A R Kohli first thing on her arrival. Cultural item competition commencedA state level competition on Chheihlam, a cultural dance, and Folk Song Solo was commenced yesterday at Vanapa Hall. 84 persons participated in the Chheihlam competition of which 29 were females. The Folk song solo competition will be held today in a continuation of the competition. 130 individuals have submitted their names for the competition today.
World Tourism Day to be observedThe World Tourism Day, which falls on September 27, will be observed in the state through a joint effort of the state Tourism department and the Mizo Academy of Letters. The theme of the Day will be "Eco-Tourism - The key to sustainable development". A symposium will be organised at the Chaltang Tourist Lodge.
