Police recovers Rs 18,500 from servant
The Bawngkawn police Tuesday night arrested Lalchhanhimi and recovered Rs 18,500 from her possession which she had taken from her employees. Lalchhanhimi was employed by Saitluangi Sailo as a housekeeper and had vanished Sunday forenoon along with Rs 28,000 while the family was attending church service.
MPCC demand clarification of "exorbitant bill"
The MPCC have demanded a clarification from the Chief Minister who is alleged to have told consumers receiving power bills that seem exorbitant not to pay it at present. The MPCC have asked on what "exorbitant" should be based. In this regard, the MNF are reportedly accusing the Power department of billing consumers prohibitively in order to give a bad name to the ministry.
Posts vacant at MTNL and Assam Rifles
The Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd has 370 vacant posts that needs to be filled up. A majority of the posts are trainees for JTO while the others are in the Marketing, Finance and Human Resources areas. The Assam Rifles too have 80 posts vacant for Medical Officers of which 6 are reseved for ST, 12 for SC and 22 for OBC.
Aizawl DC gives opinion on faith healing
C Ropianga, Aizawl district DC have issued a statement in which he denied giving any advice against the Suangpuilawn village faith healer Lalparmawia. He said he has not given any advise in this regard and that faith healing depends on the faith of the person who is in need of healing. The statement has absolved C Ropianga from any rumours pertaining to faith healers if it is against what he stated in the statement.
