Tlanga gives pep talk to gov't officers
Aizawl Oct 01:PWD minister R Tlanghmingthanga, attending the 7th Mizoram Departmental Officer's Association general body meeting said government officers are the government and as a result, have great responsibility.
Indirectly criticising the officers, the minister said while it is well and good to look out for one's own welfare, one must also be aware of what one's employers want. The minister was referring to the MDOA's agenda of safeguarding their rights and positions.
In a thinly veiled criticism of the agitations of different govermental employees' association, the minister said, "There are various associations in the government. However, if we give our full attention to the association, forgetting why we entered the government service, we hsall be failing in our duty. We should look back and introspect frequently."
The meeting today was chaired by the association's president J C Japanruna while the general secretary Lalthangliana Varte gave a report of the association's activities.
Zoliana Royte, vice-president of the association gave a speech on the conduct and responsibilites of officers.
