PHE workers still on strikeThe workcharge and muster roll employees of the Mizoram PHE department, who went on strike since September 30, have not called off their strike although the Mizoram government had promised to give them part of their wages which have been pending since August 2001. In a press release, the PHE workers said they are yet to receive any official letter informing them of the government's intention to give them three month's pay as stated by the government. "We demand that our parents make arrangements for our to receive our monthly wages by the 10th of each month," the press release said.
Fuel price change announcedWith prices of oil having been raised at the Centre, the Mizoram government have also hiked the prices of petrol and diesel. They will now cost Rs 28.84 and Rs 18.27 per litre respectively.
