Ashlie's Corner
Hi my name is Ashlie Evans. I am 14, and the second oldest in the youth group, that is
still in their teens. My brother is the oldest 17. We have a great youth group. We also have great youth leaders.
I go to New beginning Baptist Church. I have been a member there for a little over two years now. I love my church,
and the people in it.
I do two jobs in the church, actually three jobs. I am Sunday school Clerk. I take money and attendance count,
and how many bibles were brought. Then I put them in a book. Next my brother reads it to the congregation. I am
also assistant choir leader, when Allie or Judy isn't there. Or I help Allie. I also do the church bulletin. I
get information about what's going on in the church. Then I print and copy it. Then someone reads it aloud to the
church. It shows that our church is working.
The church is very active with all the youth. We go singing, on retreats, swimming, and we visit people that are
sick. To raise money we sell candy or wash cars. Just a couple months ago we went to Funscape. My mom and Dad are
really supportive about all the things we do.
Our pastor, David Knight, is a young one. So he can do just about what any body does. He just got through playing
softball church members last week. I stand strongly on what David says because I believe every word that comes
out of his mouth in the pulpit. Him and his family are always a blessing. His son is close to my age, and Allie
Jerkins is close to my age. That is a relief. Sometimes I feel like I stick out because I am so tall, and I am
older than all of them.
