Campfire Recipes

These recipes can be made with a gas grill, charcoal grill, or if you are really adventurous...a campfire.

When camping, we take a tri-pod grill which is made to hang over the campfire; we have had success in preparing some great meals with it. Half the fun of camping for our children is "roughing it." The tripod grill is a wonderful way to cook, and makes the "rough" portion of meal preparation much easier; they can be purchased at most stores which carry camping supplies.

Many times, however, with children there is no need to make meals fancy since there is nothing better than roasting a tube-steak (hotdog) on a stick!

Although camping does not provide the comforts and conveniences of home, there is nothing that can compare with the closeness and peacefulness of a quiet evening under the twinkling stars...the sounds of nature amplified to a pleasant pitch...and each family member gathered around a blazing fire.
