Nagarkot and the sunrise

No risk, no fun! That's the motto we've chosen before leaving for Nagarkot the second time. We not only wanted to see the Himalayan range, which is widely spread up there, from Dhaulagiri in the west till Mt. Everest and Kanchenjunga in the far east, but today, we wanted to attend the sunrise. For this you have to get up very early in the morning. You have to calculate more than just one hour driving those 30 km to Nagarkot by car, because you have to take into consideration that darkness in Nepal really means darkness, the very spare street illuminations, road and weather conditions, the oncoming traffic, pedestrians, bicycles and/or holy cows or just some other mammals on the street, ..... and, and, and. So, it always takes additional time to get where you want to. And when you want to arrive in time seeing the sunrise from the very first moments, boy, that means, that you have to get up very early.

Bigya arranged the conditions with the taxi driver and we left for Nagarkot at 4:30 AM. The weather conditions were, to put it mildly, not the best. It rained cats and dogs all through the night and looking up to heaven we just saw a cloudy sky. Would this be our lucky day? Guess what??? But take a look by yourself.
