Shubha Yatra - Good journey

Well, what else to say, every good journey also has its end. It's even harder if you have to say "Good Bye" to close friends. It was as always a great time in Nepal and for us, as already the former visits, too, once again the chance to get a glimpse of that great and honorable culture.

After leaving the hotel we went to say good bye to our friend in the early morning at around 6:00 AM.

When we passed by to say good bye to our friends it was not just the normal hugging, it was a very special good bye ........ so to say a good bye ceremony and therefore once again a cultural event. This one is called Shubha Yatra.

Just have a look how this one is like:

from left to right: mummy and dad with grandson Unik, Jürgen, Uwe, Bikash and his wife Rabina

After the ceremony we took our last breakfast in our friends house.

Time to say good bye though!

Bikash, Rabina, Unik and Bigya guided us to the Tribhuvan airport for seeing off. We had some time left that we wanted to share with our friends. But it came out different as we expected it to happen. Due to an airplane (Indian Airline) hijacking the last few days the security rules got very strict, so we weren't able to leave the airport building after checking in. We didn't know in advance, so our friends waited outside and we didn't get the chance to tell them. Very sad :-( At least we got the chance to make a phone call. Not to say that this wasn't the last time we came to Nepal.

So,

good bye
dear friends!
Shubha Yatra!
Feri Bhetaula!
Namaste!
