Arrival in Nepal
After we arrived in Nepal our friends welcomed us at the airport. They took us to a small but wonderful hotel, called "Potala Guest House", located in the heart of Kathmandu, Chetrapati, Thamel.
There we took a short rest, making the first efforts to arrange with our new environment for the next three weeks.
Swayambhunath and Pashupatinath
The first evening, our Nepali friends took us around to the most wonderful sights of Kathmandu: Swayambhu, Pashupati.
The first two pictures show the Swayambhunath area.

Then we visited the Pashupatinath area, one of the holiest Hindu place in Nepal. It's as well a place for personal worship, as it is also the scene of several colorful festivals throughout the year. On the banks of the holy Bagmati river there are the so called ghat places, for cremating the mortal remains of dead Hindus.
We got the chance to attend a body crematory.
The last two pictures were taken at night, as everyone can see.
