Spring Show: What is it?... A member exclusive exhibit in the Sunset Plaza is judged and critiqued by a qualified individual.
Where is it?... Sunset Plaza, 1700 Market Lane, Norfolk, NE
When is it?... Setup--Friday Evening...Display Panels setup. Hang art Friday evening and Saturday morning Registration--Saturday Morning...$5.00 registration fee plus $1.50 per entry. Entry cards and summary sheets available. Opening--Saturday Noon...Show officially opens. All work must remain on display until end of show. Juding--Sunday Daytime...If present please afford the judge much space and privacy Banquet--Sunday Evening...Location to be determined Critique--Sunday Evening...Following the Banquet, awards to be presented. Take-Down--Sunday-3:00 p.m....Show to come down one or two weeks after setup, depending upon length of show.
How Many?... Up to 10 New* Entries. Only two may receive ribbons.. *Never shown in ANAC's or NNAA's two shows.
How ID?... Each artist must complete two entry cards per artwork (preprinted cards are provided at March meeting). A summary sheet must be used to list all entry cards (a summary sheet is provided at march meeting).
Awards?... Purple, Blue, and Red winners proceed to the ANAC Conference competition in June/July. $4.00/piece. White Ribbon Awards (Honorable Mentions) are options available to the judge. These works do not travel. |

Criteria: Rational for show guidelines have developed from 40 years of dealing with traveling exhibitors.
Eligibility--All members who have their dues paid by January 1 of current year are eligivle and encouraged to participate in both shows.
Originality--Only original work is eligible. No copies!! An original cannot be a copy of any work, or a duplication of any published material. Artworks are not acceptable if the artist received instructions on work or did it wholly or in part in a workshop or classroom.
Limitations--ANAC shows are limited to works in drawing, printmaking, collage, painting, photography, pottery, sculpture, textiles, and blown glass.
Age of Work--All work must have been done within the last 2 years and not shown previously in a NNAA or ANAC Exhibit. *Exception: Work show in the Jan/Feb Critique Show may be shown in the Spring show.
Framing--All pictures must be framed, securely wired, and ready for hanging. No Exceptions. No plastic frames, pictures taped into their frames or saw-toothed hangers.
Size Maximum 2-D Work--(Paintings, Photos, etc.) - maximum 40" x 40" including frame 3-D Work--(Sculpture, Pottery, etc.) - maximum 36" in any direction and shall not exceed 75 pounds, which includes, the (a) art piece, (b) Carrying Case, (c) Display Stand/Pedestal (if your piece requires a display stand). |
