Association of Nebraska Arts Clubs

Nebraska has approximately 40 independent art clubs spread throughout the state.  The Northeast Nebraska Art Association, located in Norfolk, is one of them.  These clubs have joined to form an association that provides mutual benefits.  The name of this group, "Association of Nebraska Arts Clubs" is often shortened to ANAC.  This association makes Nebraska very unique as few, if any other states have anything like this. When artists from other states visit Nebraska to present workshops or judge art shows, most express amazement and enthusiasm for ANAC and remind us how fortunate we are to part of this group.

The primary funcation of ANAC is to help organize and conduct and annual state conference held in June or July in the hometown of a member club.  The hosting town/club changes each year.  Award-winning art from local club competitions is brought to state and assembled into an impressive 400 piece exhibit. A nationally recognized artisit is hired to judge the artwork.  At the concluding Awards Banquet, the judge will critique selelcted works and present awards. Earlier in the conference, members are encouraged to take advantage of the many and varied low-cost Art workshops conducted by skilled artists, including a workshop by the judge.  Various evening activities enable members to socialize with fellow artists.

Blue and Red Ribbon winners at the ANAC State Conference form an exhibit which travels around the state and ens up at the next year's conference, where it enjoys a feautured spot.  All work in the travle show MUST remain in the show for the duration, even if purchased.
