The Domenici's Beginnings
How We Met
Nellis and I met on August 4, 1994.  I was going to Snow College and was living with our friends' grandmother.  One night, our friend, Heather, and I were driving up and down Main Street in Manti, Utah and she decided to stop at the Top Stop because she saw some friends that she knew.  Nellis was there with his friends practicing to rope a "calf" in the parking lot.  When we pulled in, he came up to our vehicle and asked Heather who I was, said that he thought that I was cute and wanted to know what I thought about him.  She took me for a drive and asked what I thought.  I said that I thought that he was cute too.

Heather then took me back to Top Stop and Nellis' friends and Heather made us go for a ride together to talk.  We talked for several hours that night and the next several nights.  It was "love at first sight."
The Proposal
A week after we met, Nellis went and bought a ring.  He proposed three weeks later, the night before my 19th birthday, at the Sanpete County Fair Rodeo.  He had the clowns call me down into the arena during the rodeo and they did an act making me drink from a box that had a chicken in it.  They then had Nellis come out, he got down on one knee and proposed.  Of course, I said "Yes!"
The Wedding
We were married on Friday, March 31, 1995 in our church in SLC, Utah.  We had to make some rearrangements in our plans due to the accident we were win March 18, 1995.  (See our Accident page).  We had to have tall chairs for us to sit down on during the reception and we were unable to dance like we had planned.  We had to cut the reception short because Nellis and Mike were getting ill and almost passed out.  Nellis' catheter had a lot of blood in it at the end of the night.

The wedding day was nice, warm and sunny.  We had a family lunch at JJ North's Restaurant in the morning, were married in the afternoon, and had a reception in the evening.  We also had an open house the next day, Saturday, at Nellis' parents' home in Manti.

My best friend from high school, Gloria, was my matron of honor.  My two sisters, Tiffany and Terrie, and our friend, Gen, were my bridesmaids.  Gen's two daughters, Kimberly and Brittney, were my flowergirls.  Gen's husband, Dan, was Nellis' best man.  Nellis' two older brothers, Nylan and Neven, and my brother, Mike, were also in his line.  Gen and Dan's son, Christopher, was our ring bearer.

Our colors were peach and teal.  They girls wore peach dresses that my mom and sisters made.  They guys, including Nellis, all wore black Wranglers, tux shirts, tux jackets with tails, teal cumberbuns, bolo ties, cowboy hats, and cowboy boots.  We had carousel horses cut out of wood by my grandfather for centerpieces on the tables.  Nellis' mom's best friend, "Aunt" Joanie, did all of the decorating, my mom's friend, Dixie, did our flowers, and my dad's cousin, Linda, made our wedding cake.
