Debra Domenici's Page
My name is Debra Wetzel Domenici.  I am 27 years old.  I love working with and around people.  I am a quiet person, especially around new people.  I hope you have fun learning more about me.
My Birth
I was born August 28, 1975 at 5:56 p.m.  My cousin, Heather, was born ten minutes before me.  I was born at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.  My mom worked there until two weeks before I was born, so I received extra special care.  I had lots of dark hair when I was born.
My Family
I am the oldest child in a family of five children.  I have 2 younger brothers (Mike and Dan) and 2 younger sisters (Tiffany and Terrie).  All of us are now married, except for my youngest brother (Dan).  We were quite close growing up and still spend a lot of time together, even though we don't live close.  I am in Vernal, Utah, Tiffany and her husband, Tom, are building a home at Bear Lake, Utah, and the rest of our family is still in Kearns, Utah.  Our family has been growing a lot lately, as all of us are getting married and it has been fun to see the new people coming into our family.  We now have a nephew, Samuel.  I look forward to the time when more children are added to our families, making our family circle even larger.

Education
High School
I graduated from Kearns High School in 1993.  During my senior year I took a couple of classes at Salt Lake Community College.  I took a Pharmacy Technician class and a Certified Nurses Aide (CNA) class.
Snow College
After high school I moved to Manti, Utah with two friends from high school, Gloria and Kellie.  We rented a trailer in Manti and attended Snow College in Ephraim, Utah.  I took general ed courses and also an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course.
Other Schools
After moving back to Salt Lake City, I took some business classes at Phillips Junior College and some legal secretary, paralegal, and Russian classes at Salt Lake Community College.  I have also completed a home study course of child day care and did part of a paralegal class from home.
Work
Child Care
During junior high and high school I babysat on the weekends and during the summers, and then worked at Tilley Time Day Care Center my senior year as a teacher's aide for the school age, 2-year-olds, and infants.  I enjoyed working there with the children, especially the 2-year-olds and infants.
Nursing Home
While going to Snow College, I worked as a CNA at a local nursing home.  It was a messy job most of the time, but the people were sweet.  It was hard when we lost patients, though.
Nanny
After moving back to Salt Lake City, and before our accident, I was a nanny for a 4-year-old.  It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed working for that family.
Legal Secretary
After recovering from the accident, I got a job as a legal secretary for an attorney that did divorces and DUI cases.  I learned a lot about the legal field and used that experience to get on with a large law firm that did insurance litigation work.  The attorney I worked for there was the prosecuting attorney in the Ogden Hi-Fi Murder case.  I really enjoyed working for that law firm and miss everyone there since moving to Vernal.
Assistant
For a few weeks after moving to Vernal, I worked for RISE, a company that works with the disabled in their homes, helping them to care for themselves.  I enjoyed the job and working with the clients I had.
Administrative Assistant
I then got a job as an administrative assistant for the CEO, president, and vice president for Rooney Fabrication Company.  This was a company that made tanks and hot oil heaters for the oil field and construction business.  I worked there until I was laid off when the company filed bankruptcy and closed in August, 2000.
Patient Service Representative
I then got a job at the local hospital handling patient accounts.  I would call insurance companies to see when they were going to pay us and then send letters and bills to patients for their portion of the bill.  the worst part of the job was having to send the people to collections, and when they called you mad about their account.  It was nice when we were able to help people out, like writing off parts of their bills, though.
Administrative Assistant/Land Tech
I have a great job now working for Westport Oil & Gas Company.  They are based out of Denver, Colorado.  I work for the permitting, land, and environmental departments as an administrative assistant.  What we do is when a geologist decides to drill oil or gas on someone's land, we contact the land owners and work out the agreements with them as to what we need access to their land for, such as drilling on their land or just crossing their land to get to someone else's land, and how much we will pay them for that acces.  We then do onsites, where we go to the spot where the drilling will occur and meet with the land owners, our environmental team, surveyors, etc. and decide what needs to be done to get the site set up. We then file the permit to drill with the State, BLM or Tribe, depending on whose land it is.  We also file all of the various reports as the wells are drilled.  We then inspect the locations after the well is producing gas to make sure that there will not be any leaks.  We then monitor these locations for leaks and report them to the agencies if they occur.  This is a very interesting job and there are lots of great people to work with and for.
