There is so much free stuff to do on the internet that it is nearly virtually impossible to check everything out. From playing games, to learning a new language, to brushing up on your history facts, to playing trivia, to having your own website, to watching the latest episodes of Desperate Housewives to episodes from popular shows from The Home and Garden Channel. And who could forget about entering sweepstakes like The Publisher�s Clearing House and playing lotto. The internet gets better and better each day.
So where do you begin?
My first initial brush with insanity regarding the internet was getting hooked playing games with my family on POGO.com. Every game imaginable, old games such as solitaire updated to an adventure type game, called Tri-Peaks Solitaire, to group games like backgammon and checkers. POGO is free but you get added perks with being a member such as no intermissions watching advertisements and private chat rooms while you are playing the games. The addicting part of POGO is that each week they have goals, otherwise known as earning badges. These neat little pictures you can display by your name once you conquer this week�s game challenge. Addicting it is, be forewarned. But very, very fun.
Uproar.com is another really popular free website that hosts a variety of games where you can earn points to trade in for raffle drawings. They also have Bingo games that you play in competition with others online at the same time. And get this--for real cash prizes! I won $2.00 once. I love getting free things online but playing to win at Uproar bingo is not as enterprising as the time enjoyed watching your cards fill up with numbers.

My days are usually spent perusing through a number of e-mail boxes getting points for taking surveys and reading e-mails. There is so much free stuff to earn, it is hard to keep up. Plus, to be able to research absolutely anything and everything in the blink of an eye truly makes the internet the gateway to knowledge.
You can have cool trivia delivered right to your e-mail box, look up interesting facts at one of the encyclopedia websites, or check your history knowledge at TheHistoryChannel.com. All for free. I can catch up on the latest articles from a variety of magazines and even read newspapers from towns I have never heard of.
You can even have your own website for free. There are many places where you can sign up for free websites, geocities.com is one of them. Let the internet be your access to the world, and the world�s access to you.
And don�t forget to catch the latest episode of Desperate Housewives online, for free. Or for those without cable or satellite, you can even catch up on your favorite Home and Garden Channel TV shows like House Hunters.
