    Christian, Catawba County - ACE was founded in February of 2005 and is the largest homeschool support group in Catawba County serving around 100 families. Currently, ACE provides help and encouragement to parents to fulfill their God-given rights and responsibilities to educate their own children. ACE operates by an established standard of conduct to facilitate and maintain good relationships among its members.

    A sub group of WWHEAT - Waxhaw Weddington Home Educators Are Teaching BLESSED is a Christian support group for homeschoolers who have children with special needs that affect their learning (eg. ADD/ADHD, and diagnosed or suspected learning disABILITIES). We serve the south Charlotte and Union county areas primarily but homeschoolers are welcome to come from farther away if they desire. We meet every other month during the school year for spiritual encouragement (brief devotions and prayer), sharing of ideas, and often an educational presentation by a local professional.

    Homespun Charlotte is a no-cost discussion and support group for active homeschooling families in the North Mecklenburg and South Cabarras County areas. The purpose of the group is to network, obtain support and information related to homeschooling, swap ideas and resources, and find fieldtrips and classes available for homeschooled kids.

    The purpose of the SALT group is to provide support, guidance, and encouragement to one another as home educators. SALT is a Christian organization, consisting of about seventy families, based in northwest Charlotte. SALT draws most of its membership from northwest Mecklenburg and eastern Gaston counties. Although SALT is a comparatively small home school group, it offers a rich and wide variety of events and activities to its members, including, monthly parent meetings, annual parties, field trips, yearbook, Key Club (One of only two key clubs in the country available to homeschoolers), Middle school and elementary school groups and activities, graduation ceremony, yahoo e-mail loop, information on classes and activities being offered throughout the metropolitan area.
