ACE Admininstering Children�s Education
Christian, Catawba County - ACE was founded in February of 2005 and is the largest homeschool support group in Catawba
County serving around 100 families. Currently, ACE provides help and encouragement to parents to fulfill their God-given rights and
responsibilities to educate their own children. ACE operates by an established standard of conduct to facilitate and maintain good
relationships among its members.
Alternative Learning
The purpose of this group is to find like minded friends. We would like to find a collection of tweens and teens plus there
families to enjoy outings and other happening throughout the year with.
All our learning is alternative, we learn by doing, therefore we are out in the world experiencing and would like to find other
homeschool friends who would like to come along on our alternative learning journey.

A sub group of WWHEAT - Waxhaw Weddington Home Educators Are Teaching BLESSED is a Christian support group for
homeschoolers who have children with special needs that affect their learning (eg. ADD/ADHD, and diagnosed or suspected learning
disABILITIES). We serve the south Charlotte and Union county areas primarily but homeschoolers are welcome to come from
farther away if they desire. We meet every other month during the school year for spiritual encouragement (brief devotions and
prayer), sharing of ideas, and often an educational presentation by a local professional.
Cabarrus County Homeschool
Association
Homespun Charlotte is a no-cost discussion and support group for active homeschooling families in the North Mecklenburg and
South Cabarras County areas. The purpose of the group is to network, obtain support and information related to homeschooling,
swap ideas and resources, and find fieldtrips and classes available for homeschooled kids.

A new (August 2008) homeschool support group on the east side of Mecklenburg County (Charlotte) NC. Our intent is to fill this
"No-Man's Zone" south of University City but north of Mint Hill. We are an inclusive group, open to all homeschooling families. Our
target area is south of Rocky River Rd, north of Albemarle Rd, and east of W T Harris Blvd. However, we welcome others outside
the area to join as well.

H.O.M.E. of Gaston County
Our group provides a directory, field trips, Mom's Night Out, Titus 2
(mentor program), a monthly newsletter, 4-H, parties,
picnic, field day, skating, bowling, Presidential Physical Fitness testing, scholastic testing (mandated by law), spelling bee, academic
and teaching resources, teen ministry and learning fair. Each family is expected to commit in assisting with at least one
activity.

Even though it is sometimes necessary to offer opportunities which may separate the family (such as field trips for older children,
ladies night out, etc.) we believe it is better to keep the family together whenever possible.

The purpose of the SALT group is to provide support, guidance, and
encouragement to one another as home educators. SALT is a Christian organization, consisting of about seventy
families, based in northwest Charlotte. SALT draws most of its membership from northwest Mecklenburg and eastern Gaston
counties. Although SALT is a comparatively small home school group, it offers a rich and wide variety of events and
activities to its members, including, monthly parent meetings, annual parties, field trips, yearbook, Key Club (One of only two key
clubs in the country available to homeschoolers), Middle school and elementary school groups and activities, graduation ceremony,
yahoo e-mail loop, information on classes and activities being offered throughout the metropolitan area. Applications are available

PEACE at Home
PEACE is a homeschool support group serving southeastern Wake and Johnston counties. PEACE welcomes those contemplating
homeschooling, as well as those presently educating their children at home. PEACE welcomes diversity and believes that our
differences enrich and educate us. One of the goals of the group is to promote,support,and celebrate diversity within the
homeschool community by accepting all members for who they are, in a nonjudgmental way. We have monthly social
gatherings/potlucks and do strongly encourage all members to attend at least one of these gatherings in a 6 month period. This is
how we build community! In addition to performing all the usual functions of a homeschool support group, such as regular
playground dates, field trips, structured activities, and mom's nights out, PEACE seeks to provide a forum in which all members will
