HomeScholar Books is an emerging publishing company that caters to the homeschool market. This is the home of Literary Lessons from the Lord of the Rings, a one-year literature curriculum for ages 12-18 that uses The Lord of the Rings as a base to teach 120 literary terms, over 600 vocabulary words, and to introduce the ancient epics, Beowulf, the Arthurian Romances, linguistics, poetry analysis and more. HomeScholar Books also offers a growing list of supplemental educational and literary resources.

The Homeschool Gathering Place is a homeschool bookstore in Raleigh's Oak Park Shopping Center, conveniently located off of Glenwood Avenue-Hwy 70. We have 3300 sq ft of new and consigned homeschooling curricula and other materials. Here you can LOOK before you buy. And you can consign your used materials any time. Use your consignment money for store credit and receive quarterly pay outs.

Our hours vary with the school schedule (since we homeschool our own) so it is best to call for hours. Generally we follow this schedule:
September through May:
Tuesday through Thursday: 1-5; Friday and Saturday: 10-5; Closed Sunday and Monday
June through August:
We will be open 10-5 Tues-Sat and, now we will also be open 6-8:30 on Tues for grownups only (with the obvious exception of nursing babies).

Established in 2007, Merritt Poultry is a small farm in NC owned and operated by our family. We sell farm fresh eggs from our hand raised, free range/roaming chickens [and ducks] We started this business because we enjoy and all learn so much from our animals (we homeschool). We really enjoy having delicious fresh eggs from healthy and happy chickens and ducks as well as their company.
