NC Homeschool Loop

The North Carolina Homeschool Loop was created in 1997 to provide a means for communication among North Carolina homeschoolers. Members are free to share their ideas, questions and/or concerns relating to homeschooling in North Carolina. All homeschoolers are welcome.

Loop Guidelines

Please try to keep in mind that we are a diverse group encompassing many philosophies of life and homeschooling--and compose your postings in a respectful manner. This is not the appropriate venue for attempting to influence others to change their beliefs or for pushing a particular agenda. Please, NO personal attacks. Debate the topic or issues, not the person. Please refrain from harassing those who don't share your views.

Please do not send forwards or chain letters. If you have information to forward that you think would interest other loop members, give a brief description and ask folks to email you privately for more information.

Solicitation for the specific purpose of generating revenue for your business is not welcome. Mentioning your homeschool-related business as a helpful response to another member's post is fine.

Of course, it's okay to list your used curricula for sale (as long as you don't have a business selling used curricula ;-) ), if you are a North Carolina homeschooler with a business, consider placing information on the NC Homeschooler's Businesses page. EXCEPTION: Information on homeschool classes that you offer may be shared through the loop. Please limit these announcements to one post.

As a courtesy to other Loop members, please refer to "THE CORE RULES OF NETIQUETTE" , "Tips for composing and sending e-mail messages", and "Creating Spam-Filter-Friendly E-mails" before making posts to the Loop.
If you appreciate a bit of humor, ""Dear Emily Postnews"has put together some funny examples of what NOT to do. - lol
(..and even more information may be found on THIS PAGE, including examples of Emoticons, or icons and abbreviations and acronyms for familiar phrases)

When quoting another's post for reply, please edit out all but that which is necessary for clarity. Failing to do this makes it especially unpleasant for those receiving messages in digest form.

We briefly moderate all new member posts to discourage spamming on this list. Further, list members who violate the guidelines above will be put on moderated status. Those who continually violate guidelines may be removed from the NC Loop.
