North Central FFA Judging Teams Agronomy Team Team members must identify several varieties of plants, seeds, diseases, and Insects. This year's team placed 10th in the district. Team members included: Derek Bexten, Mark Coutz, Kerrie Hutchison, Kyle McClellan, Alicia Pavka, Tracie Thorp, and Steve Watkins. Soil Judging Teams
Members of the soil judging teams judged soil pits for their proper uses and limitations. Members of the Rural Soils Judging Team were: Derek Bexten, Mark Coutz, Kerrie Hutchison, Tracie Thorp, and Steve Watkins. Members of the Urban Soils Judging Team included Kyle McClellan and Alicia Pavka. The Dairy Judging Contest consists of judging a cow class, judging a heifer class, Linear Scoring, Sire Selection, Pedigrees, and a Written Test. Team members included Kyle McClellan, Ben Montague, Alicia Pavka, and DeAnna Snider. The team placed 9th in the district! The 2002 State Dairy Cattle Judging Team traveled to Columbus on April 20, 2002. The team placed 19th in the state. Team members included Tracie Thorp, 39th, DeeAnna Snider, 75th, Alicia Pavka, 224th, and Franklin Frame, 241st . Coached by Randy Groll The Equine Management Team must identify tack and feed samples, take a written test, and place halter and performance classes. The 2002 Equine Management Contest team consisted of Frank Frame, Ben Montague, DeeAnna Snider, Tracie Thorp, and Jeff Willson.
General Livestock Judging Team
Coached by Dave Traxler The General Livestock Judging Team judges market beef, breeding heifers, market lambs, breeding ewes, breeding rams, market hogs, and breeding gilts. They sometimes judge and grade feeder calves. The 2001 General Livestock Judging Team included Frank Frame, Jason Sliwinski, Tracie Thorp, and Lizzy Towers Public Speaking Students can either do Creed (first year members only), Beginning Prepared, Prepared, Extemporaneous, or Job Interview. Representing our chapter was Lizzy Towers, Prepared, and Tracie Thorp, Extemporaneous and Job Interview. The Parliamentary Procedure Team consists of nine members practicing six abilities of parliamentary law. |
