The Sustainable-Livelihood approach supports poverty eradication by improving the  target groups' means of  livelihood as the  central goal of the development efforts. A livelihood is sustainable when it can cope with and recover from stresses and shocks, and maintain or enhance its capabilities and assets both now and in the future, while not undermining the natural resource base.

We have  initiated a basic project for the hunter-gatherer tribals, impoverished and forgotten by civil society, in the hinterlands of the Naugarh Forest Range in Kaimoor hills, about 85 Kms from Varanasi.

Some of the activities initiated are :

  Inculcating the Agri-Horti Farming System

Adopting Organic Agriculture methods

 Soil and Water Conservation Practices

Setting up of seed-banks
