Name: Saraw
Species/Gender: African Lioness.
Birth line: Daughter of one of the lionesses in Mufasa's pride and of a rogue lion.
Age: Born a few months before Simba and Nala.
Relation to story: As part of the king's pride, her task is to fight to defend it and to always warn of dangers which threaten the kingdom. When not in the presence of older females, she is accustomed to taking charge; although she doesn't have formal command.
Character Traits: She is very perceptive and relaxed, and agile. She learns quickly. As she becomes mature, she becomes more centered and quiet.
Physical Characteristics: Her fur is darker than Nala's. She has dark red eyes. Her upper eyelids are coffee colored, and the lines under her eyes are clear; different from the other lionesses who have completely clear eyelids. Her nose is a deep pink.
History: This character was inspired by the lioness that appeared in The Lion King 2, who said to Simba's daughter "Kiara, how you've grown!" (Who is supposed to be Sarafina!), nevertheless, her appearance and character are a little different from said lioness, click here for pictures. Born in the lands of Mufasa's Kingdom, during the prosperous times when Nala and Simba were also born, Saraw's mother was always very friendly with Sarabi and Sarafina, allowing the little lioness to grow in close contact with the queen. For a few months, she was the only cub in the pride, receiving all of the attention and quickly learning to hunt and to include herself in all adult matters. During the reign of scar she kept close to Sarabi, trying to comfort her and caring for Sarafina when Nala left. Now that Simba has taken over, Saraw became an important element of the pride as many lionesses are injured and the pride is in need of able-bodies lionesses. When she meets Natu, she falls in love with him, causing herself to commit a grave error which puts the king in danger.
