2/6/04- The is the motor that will rotate my dome. It was purchased from Lynxmotion.

*Note: Motor was too noisy, and was replaced with a Pittman Motor, but using the same wheel. I will post some pics and info.

The double "O" wheel came from Budget Robotics.

Here is the motor once it was placed next to the Rockler Bearing. Unfortunately it is very noisy, so I will keep looking for a quieter gearmotor.

5/28/04- This is how the dome looked after assembly. It is finally starting to look like the real thing! It only took 1 year and three months to get to this point!
Here are some pics of the logic displays mounted in the dome. Everything was glued in place using a product called Automotive Goop. It is a very good adhesive, but can be removed if a mistake is made...and I have made several over the course of this project!
My pride and joy...the Vickers Viscount lights...A.K.A, the holoprojectors. It took me a little over a year to track these down, they were discovered in a box of Viscount parts that a gentleman had for sale. I was shocked to learn that he had over a dozen! Unfortunately he wanted more for the set than I could afford at the time. Mike Senna stepped up to the plate, and grabbed up the box, and started cleaning and modifying the lights so they would be able to rotate freely once installed on the dome. Mike Senna is one of those people who is a truely unstoppable force. Not only did he help me realize my dream of having actual Viscount lights on my dome, but he actually completed his droid in nine months from start to finish! Incredible! You da man Mike!
