My name is Elwyn, That�s me above. I am Welsh and I am 48.
I live in North Wales, That�s it above centre or at least a small part of it.
My hobbies and interests are many, and as you will see if you visit my art page via the art button, drawing and painting is one of them. I prefer oil painting, but as with most people find time and money is not on my side, and pencil or pen is my quick fix.
Being surrounded by water I suppose it�s hardly surprising I have an interest in fishing, and I go as often as I can. Because of where I live sea fishing is the norm. But I also get over to the mainland every once in a while to give the fly-fishing a try, even though I don�t eat fish. I was once asked the question "why go fishing if you don�t eat fish"? But isn�t that a bit like asking a golfer why he plays golf!
I also have an interest in anything to do with the historical periods in Welsh history, and although this site is mainly about the Anglesey area, I have an interest in all things Welsh, from the lowly love spoon, and the sight of a mountain steam train as it wends its way through the valley, to the mighty castles that adorn my land.
Why did I build this site?. I suppose after spending so much time in reference libraries, and learning all I have about my heritage, it seemed a shame not to be able to share it with those of you who dont have the easy access I have. Lots of you live in lands with a short history, or visit Wales in a holiday setting and may wonder why? and what? or who? about the ancient things they see. Hopefully by building this site I have helped you on your way to understanding my land a little more.
I often think I was born to late, and think how adventurous it would have been to have lived during the time of all the castle building and the Welsh princes. I suppose if I could speak to someone from that time, they would not paint such a rosy picture, but from the safety and warmth of a house with central heating, double-glazing and locks on the doors my fantasy�s can take flight. What about you, if you could go back to any time in the past, when would you go, and why? Maybe you�ll let me know when you sign my guest book. I am still building more pages to add to this site, and will add them as they become finished. I am not an expert on Welsh history, nor am I expert on building web sites, so any mistakes you see are entirely my own.
