Unit Numbers
You will not see a car number or "unit" number stickered on the body of any MSP vehicle. The cars unit number is actually the license plate of the vehicle. The first digits are the post number, then the "car number". For example below you see the plate "6203". The vehicle is from post 62 (Reed City Post) and it is car 03. Canine units are designated with the first two digits being K9-##
History of Badges
Another thing that hasn't changed much is uniform equipment. I found this picture of past badges to present and thought i'd include it on this history page!
Other State Logo's
Pictured here is the Michigan State Police door, Michigan DNR, and County Sheriff. The sheriff decals have been changing in michigan. This used to be the standard but now each department may use different designs. I'll try to find current pics.
