Motor Carrier Enforcement

Each state in US has some form of motor carrier or weighmaster enforcement. The state of Michigan has a division of the state police called Motor Carrier Enforcement. They employ officers to strictly enforce laws of commercial tractor-trailers and other heavy duty equipment on Michigan roadways.

Their current assigned vehicles are the same police packages that regular troopers use, same lighting and radio equipment and engine requirements. This is for added visibillity on the roadways. The door decal is a bit different and has "Motor Carrier Division" on it. In the last few years the MSP made all of their vehicles the same "MSP blue". They carry the same motor carrier sheild on the door. Instead of the "motor carrier" stickers they use the standard white "STATE POLICE" lettering on the trunk lid.

In previous years their vehicles were baby blue and instead of saying "STATE POLICE" on the trunk lid it said "MOTOR CARRIER".
