5. Learning about your own state should be an important part of the social studies curriculum.

Warwick, RI teachers should also have Rhode Island-The
Ocean State written by Donald A. D'Amato (a former Warwick
teacher).
You might also like to invite local residents to come and speak to the students about their life in Rhode Island.
