The RI State Flag
Rhode Island's current flag was adopted in 1897. It features a white background with a golden anchor in the center. The anchor dates back to 1647, when Rhode Island and the Providence Plantations were established under King Charles II of England. The colors blue and white were flown during the American Revolution, War of 1812, and the Mexican-American War. A blue ribbon underneath bears the word "HOPE." Thirteen gold stars encircle the anchor and the ribbon. The stars represent the thirteen original colonies.
Print and color the flag.
