Football Programs
This is a collection of tools I've written to assist in the management of Fanatasy Football and EA Sport's Madden Fooball leagues.

MaddenView v2.0 (beta download - 943k)
Oct 17 Beta0.2
New update that includes a fix for the player height and support for the PAL version of Madden2003 XPort files. (.xps) Special thanks to Mark Beecham for all his help with the PAL file.

Next up is making sure the program handles draft classes properly. Real work's getting busy, so it may be another week before the next update. Thanks to all who have sent in bugs and feedback.

Note: This program requires msvbvm60.dll. You may already have it, but if the Maddenview program says that you do not, download it here and place it in your c:\windows\system folder.

MaddenView v1.1 (download - 2.12 mb)
Extract player stats from the PS2 version of Madden Football 2002. Directly reads a Madden Franchise Sharkport file, (.sps) and displays the roster stats in a sortable grid form. Arrange information by team, position, Free Agents, and the current Draft Class, if one exists.

Current stats that are extracted include: POS NAME OVR SPD STR AWR AGI ACC CTH CAR JMP BTK TAK THP THA PBK RBK KPR KAC IMP STM INJ TGH SALARY. (Still looking for AGE, CONTRACT YEARS, YEARS IN NFL, etc...)

Once the team .csv file has been generated, copy all of the rows from the .csv file into the included Excel sheet using Edit->Paste Special->Values. This will dump the team roster into the Excel sheet preserving the formatting and such.

Program History

Oct 7 Beta0.1
Finally got a chance to get back to the program over the weekend, so here's a Monday Night Football special in honor of the Bears vs Packers game. Click abpve tp download a full working beta of the MaddenView program supporting Madden2003 Franchise files. All of the stats are there, and most of them are probably right.

Still needs some testing, as well as support for plain old roster files, but check it out and drop me some feedback. Also, let me know if I forgot to include any of the system files

Sept19 Alpha 0.2
Another update. 9 stats down, 17 to go. Turns out many of the stats require a 2 bit modified to scale them appropriately. That's why Vinny can have the same AGI value as Daunte, yet their AGI stats are different. One has a modifier of +32, the other +64. Anyway, hopefully the rest will start to come a little quicker.

Sept12 Initial Alpha Release
Sorry for the absence, but I now have a bead on how the stats are calculated, and I'll be posting the initial alpha today. It will include only a handful of stats, (SPD, STR, Salary, Contract, etc..) but it's a start. Check back later today for a full update.

Aug26 Progress Update
Quick update. As I expeced, the roster information is very different from the 2002 format. In fact, the primary stats are either encoded or in a different part of the file altogether. I've got the player names, teams, and positions down, but I'll need to stare at the numbers for a little while longer before I can find the rest of the stats and post anything. Possibly middle of next week.

Aug 15 Progress Update
Just picked up Madden2003, so I will be diving into the data files in the next week or so. Some possible new features include:
- Import 2002 or 2003 files.
- Import Roster files as well as Franchise files.
- Maybe edit player rosters, stats, etc... Maybe. Depends on how easily currupted the files can get, and if I can find ways to prevent cheating in serious leagues.

May 2002           Initial Beta Release

Export to .csv file only. No in-program sorting, and major memory holes. Special thanks to bly, facemask, and madSci from MM for pounding it into the turf for me.

June 2002           Public Beta

Fixed memory leaks, added in-program viewing and sorting and stuff. Large file prints quicker. Still slow to close while it clears memory, and occasionally displays a player a second time as a FA when they're actually on a team. The hell?

Also generates a comma-delimited Excel file (.csv) of any team, free agent market, or draft class for printing or custom statistical analysis. Pre-formated excel file included for easy cut and paste of information.
