  DraftDay2002

Football Programs
This is a collection of tools I've written to assist in the management of Fanatasy Football and EA Sport's Madden Fooball leagues.

DraftDay2001 ver 1.1 (download - 2.1MB)
All of the tools needed to manage a Fantasy Football draft. With a complete list of NFL players sortable by position, team, bye-week, etc... DraftDay will follow your league's draft order, allow positional trades, and keep track of the clock if needed.

At any time, the entire draft may be saved to a file and resumed. Afterwards, print reports by round, owner, position, whatever.

After the owner's draft file is saved and password protected, it may be imported on draft day. When the absent owner's pick is up, Suggest button will list the top three choices in order for the human proxy or draft manager to select. May also be used to create "Computer" owners using expert cheatsheets for a warm-up mockdraft.

Program History

July2001          Initial Beta Release

Used as a tool for our Fantasy draft which I and two others were unable to attend. When you can't find a proxy, write an AI program to do it, I always say. Managed the entire league draft, and suggested later-round picks based on password protected cheat sheets the absent owners had imported into the program. Aside from drafting Jeff George as my backup to Culpepper, it did a pretty good job.

June 2002           Public Release
Still has the old roster, but it does include the complete draft of the IndyFFL league that the program was written for. Load up the sample league file to check it out.

This release does contain default cheatsheet information, so you are welcome to start a new league, pick an owner, and try your hand at a mockdraft. See what kind of team you would have had last year.

In addition, DraftDay offers the unique option to draft for an absent owner based on their cheatsheet. Prior to the big day, an owner may import their cheatsheet, specify a round-by-round ruleset to specify positional preferences. Stud RB in the first round, best RB/QB in second, best RB/QB/WR in third... fill WR/TE/DEF need in ninth round, etc. May also check for bye-week conflicts.
