Curriculum Standards

This lesson will be a success on many levels
if the student becomes more familiar with the use of a digital camera,
the Photoshop program on the computer,
the research skills to learn about the animals and the professional photographers.
Equally important is for the students to gain an awareness of the wild animals around them,
the environment and the importance of protecting the vanishing habitat of these wild creatures.

This lesson was designed to meet the following federal and state standards in art curriculum:

Federal Education Standards:
 Achievement Standard: (NA-VA.9-12.1)

Students apply media, techniques, and processes with sufficient skill, confidence, and sensitivity that their intentions are carried out in their artworks
Students conceive and create works of visual art that demonstrate an understanding of how the communication of their ideas relates
to the media, techniques, and processes they use

New York State Education Standards: The Arts
