Date of ultrasound: 08 December 2001
That's me, at 11 weeks now. Yahoo, I am officially known as a "fetus."
My head is still the biggest part of my body, and at this stage I don't
even look human! More like a frog, maybe. But let's sure hope that I won't
look like one when I come out!
Mom liked this ultrasound better than the first two because I was finally
showing some motion. She said I was jumping around like a jellybean, and
so this image wasn't so good. It was the only other good news to lighten
her day, which is now marked by good ol' fashioned morning sickness. She
definitely hates being pregnant now. She throws up almost everything she
eats, feels so lazy and sleepy all the time -- but still manages to go
to work inspite of it all. She developed this awful sense of smell, she
absolutely swears she would be a great member of the SWAT team of sniffer
dogs.
Poor Dad couldn't help Mom get through her
morning sickness problems, but tries his best to be areally damn good
cook at home. :-)

In the know:
The baby's head now makes up more than half of its length. Over the next
four days, fingernails, toenails, and hair follicles will appear (these
are all specialized parts of the top layer of skin). Over the next week,
the baby will assume a more upright posture. This week is a period of
rapid growth. Although the average rate of growth until birth is 0.06
inch (1.5 mm) in length per day, the baby will begin to grow even more
rapidly from this point.
