ACADEMICS
All through my career, I had been quite focused about what I plan to do in my life. It was in 4th standard when I first came to know about something called 'research'. Since then, just as I always try to do something different, just as I round the clock strive to stand out in the crowd, I had a faint thought in my mind to take up research in future. Well, although, it was too far and almost impossible for me to realize that there was something called engineering, and on top of that when I came to know about it, hardly could I know what it actually is! In fact what was in my mind was perhaps Physics: in the land of opportunities: USA. US had thus always been a perennial outflow of dreams to me. It was till I came in 11th standard that things got quite enough crystal clear: I knew its now Engineering, although my prime interest was Electronics: being fascinated with Modern Physics. Lack of decent computer exposure always kept me aloof from knowing what Computer Engineering really comprised. But what was interesting was that I then hardly thought of taking up planning of such a long career: believe it or not, perhaps it was industry what was in my mind! But yes, coming down to this college, although had shattered my dreams of studying in BITS Pilani, but indirectly has done a world of good to me. It has made me more focused than I was ever in my life; it has instilled a great desire in me to delve into the intricacies of computer science technicalities: and then my Minor Project was the path indicator to take up AI as my flavor of future research. Today I live with this lone dream in my heart, a research career with an MS and a PhD. Lets see what happens next...
Since my very childhood I had always been a forerunner in academics. All my life has seen me to be the topper, almost every class; and a rank holder in almost every kind of exam I had appeared in. One of my sweetest achievements was my visit to RRL, Jorhat (a CSIR lab) owing to my excellent results at secondary. It really enabled me come in contact with real life research activities. Well, this was a different kind of achievement, other than the normal course of accomplishments I have had in my academic career, like when I topped the entire state twice at the secondary and higher secondary level.
