Friday Folders
Friday is a special day for us.  Every Friday we take our Friday Folders home.  Inside these special folders our parents can see all of our work for the week.  They will also find a weekly progress report.  This report tells them about our behavior.  All parents are asked to look through the graded papers.  Any papers marked "fix" should be looked at carefully, and all mistakes should be corrected.  Parents are then asked to sign the progress report and to put the progress report along with any "fixed" papers back into the folder.  The final step is to sign one of the boxes on the front cover of the folder, and to return the folder to school on Monday.  Folders are collected Monday morning, and a sticker is placed in the box on the cover if it has been signed.  The entire process is then repeated on Friday.  This keeps home-to-school communication open, and it helps parents see what their first grader needs to work on.

Some Friday Folders are in need of repair!  If your child's folder is falling apart, please tape it well.  I provide each child with 1 Friday Folder at the beginning of the year.  You will find that they usually do not want to replace a worn-out folder because they have quite a collection of stickers on the front!  Tape will do wonders!!
