This WebQuest
was designed for Social Studies Enrichment as an activity for a 6th
grade Gifted and Talented (pull-out) 
Class.
It is expected that students
have certain prerequisite skills:

basic
computer use
·
navigation
of the internet
·
speech
composition
·
oration
·
outlining
·
research
skills including selecting with criteria and judging with evidence
This activity was designed for
students who tend to be self-guided, creative, and independent learners. Some adaptations (such as using
cooperative groups to distribute parts of the task) might be beneficial for a
different group of students. In
addition, students are guided to be self-reflective and self-evaluative as a
regular component of their classroom, so these elements were not explicitly
part of the activity. They are
important practices, though, and some sort of log or self-reflection should be
ongoing during this WebQuest.
