Part I: Based on Mario Puzo's The Godfather, this epic tale show's the rise of the Corleone family's rise to the top of the mafia mountain. Part II: This film depicts two stories; the roots and rise of a young Don Vito (De Niro), and the ascension of Michael Corleone (Pacino) as the new Don. All of the original cast was assembled to continue the saga. Robert De Niro received an Oscar. The film received 12 Academy Award nominations and was awarded 'Best Picture'.
Part III: In the third installment, Michael Corleone (Pacino) is trying to rid the families business's of crime and finding a successor. New enemies as well as old evils are portrayed. Love and honor are renewed as we see the daughter of the Don grow into a key player. We see all of the history unfold as the future is turned bright for the Corleone family.
