it's no secret that we should teach students the value of community service. I do so by building into my marketing curriculum a group assignment that requires students to participate in a field trip to Weatherford's Center for Hope. Once there, students work in the warehouse by taking in food donations as well as serving meals to our communities poor. The result has been staggering. Each time we do this assignment I have the privilege of watching a group of students metamorph from haughty and raucus teenagers to humble and caring members of the Weatherford community. More importantly, I reinforce this learning by modeling the behavior. Here are some links to letters from those I organizations I have served. in the past.
