| We just about finished up our paper mache physical maps;t'was a short week and pajama day isn't the best day for art projects!.....look for them to come home after we finish the painting and of course, some photo ops that you'll perhaps see on the big screen in the NHE atrium. We covered the Paleo-Indians, Inuit and Northwest Indians this week and barely scratched the surface of Southwest tribes. I read and we dramatized "Cold Wind, Chinook Wind"-a Walla legend. Ask your student about it! We'll finish the week with a look at the Indians of the Southwest. Hopi and other tribes were very resourceful in the desert climate (where your teacher is from) and used irrigation very successfully. I sent home a few copies of "Tracing the Anasazi" and if you'd like to borrow this booklet and read it with your child, please let them know. I have 5 copies currently... "Ya ta he" everyone!
