| We had instructional extension this week, so our plans will be the same as for last week... We started our paper mache physical maps with Mrs. Studdard's students. We'll block out a little time this week to paint and finish them up! I love teaching history and this week will be no different. We'll be exploring the first Americans, how they got here, how they survived and where they are today. I was fishing this summer on the Pacific Ocean, and will relate how the fish spawning was critical to survival of those people. We'll finish the week with a look at the Indians of the Southwest. Hopi and other tribes were very resourceful in the desert climate (where your teacher is from) and used irrigation very successfully. If I can round up enough copies I will send home "Tracing the Anasazi"-a mini-book that can be read with your child. This will be on Wednesday. Unfortunately, some of my materials are missing in this subject and I'm not sure if I can come up with enough copies of many of these extended learning texts... "Ya ta he" everyone!
